Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers

Below are some of the areas in which COTA needs volunteers.  If any of these areas are of interest to you, please fill out the on-line volunteer form.  If you would like more information, before submitting a volunteer form, contact president@cotatennis.net.

Standing Committees - These include Junior Team Tennis Committee, Adult League Committee, Grieavance Committee and Appeal Committee.  These committee support the league coordinators in administering league play.
 
Board of Directors / Officers- This is the governing body of the Clarke Oconee Tennis Association. and is made up of a one representative of each county COTA serves.  The Executive Committee includes the offices of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
 
Photographer: We need great photos of tennis – whether it’s from local league play or local players at  tournaments - adults and juniors. These photos are needed for our website, newspaper or COTA promotional material. 
 
Adult League Assistants - Volunteers are needed to help the Local League Coordinator manage specific programs in our Adult League (ie.  Mixed Doubles, Combo Doubles, Seniors etc).     
   
Event Volunteers:  Planning and staffing special tennis events. COTA holds at least one special tennis event a year.  If you like volunteer work that is time and task specific, helping with an event is a great way to support COTA.
 
Community/ Public Relations: Getting COTA’s name and mission out in the community is important. Volunteers who have experience in writing for publication are needed to write feature stories about tennis from time to time. 
 
Instructors/Coaches:  Players who play at the 3.5 level or above can help provide beginner instruction or help coach a junior league team. Training is available.  Great way to help introduce others to the great game of tennis.
