COTA Junior Team Tennis
In an effort to ensure player safety and a positive experience, all team captains and co-captains will be required to go through the USTA Georgia Background Screening Process and Youth Protection Training online course to be completed before the start of season play.
Thank you for volunteering to lead your child’s team through the season. We hope your team will have a fun and exciting, competitive season. Here you will find all the necessary information to manage your team. Your most helpful tool in managing your team is TennisLink.
TennisLink is USTA’s online league program, which provides USTA membership registration and renewal, league registration, program, player, and team information and services, such as team roster, match schedule, team standings, score reporting, player records and more. If your child has participated in local USTA tournaments, you will find this is the same online application used. Getting familiar with TennisLink is the best way to plan, follow and review your child’s tennis game.
Getting Started…
1. Complete Youth Protection Training online course and USTA Georgia Background Screening Process. PLEASE USE THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS FOR BOTH PROCEDURES. For more information regarding this requirement please visit, http://www.ustageorgia.com/jtt/volunteer_background_screening.htm.
2. Become a Coach/Captain in TennisLink. There is no fee to become a Coach/Captain. Your Coach/Manager number will be your username when accessing the online program. Please keep record of your assigned number and password. If you are already a USTA member, you can use your membership number, but please verify your contact information is correct, as it will be provided to other captains. Returning captains simply use your existing account information.
Go to TennisLink and under the “Options” List near the bottom right of the page, select “Become a Coach/Manager”. Complete form information and submit. After doing so, a “Create a Team” page is generated.
· Select “Jr” in the Type of Program drop-down menu.
· Select “Southern” for Section menu.
· Select “Georgia” for District menu.
· Select “Athens” for Area menu, and “GO”.
· Programs open for registration will be listed. Select “COTA” season league play and Click “Register”.
· Select to “Join”.
· IMPORTANT!! Write down your Team Number. You will reference this number throughout the season, so it is important to retain the information. It is also the key for individual player registration.
3. You will receive your roster information from your Team Pro/Instructor or COTA JTT Program Coordinator. As soon as possible, contact players for online registration, providing your team number. Instructions can be found on the COTA Junior website, Item #2 at www.cotatennis.net/juniorRegistration or you can cut and paste the instructions in an email. Also provide the team roster and a copy of the Rules and Regulations, which can also be found on the COTA Junior website, www.cotatennis.net/rules.
4. Verify your contact information and set means of communication between you and your Team Pro/Instructor for lineups. If you know specific date(s) players are NOT available, please be sure to pass on to your Pro/Instructor. They will be keeping record of match play per player.
